Proposition E, Hotel Tax Allocation Initiative Ordinance for Arts and Culture in San Francisco WINS at 74%
On November 6th, 2018, Election Day, San Francisco voters chose to prioritize and claim arts and culture as essential to the City – with the passing of Proposition E.
The Proposition required a 2/3rds majority vote to pass and passed with that and more at 74%. Now, funding for youth arts programs, artists, cultural centers, cultural districts, arts organizations, and more has been secured into the future through a portion of the Hotel Tax.
There was a tremendous amount of work and volunteer effort involved with getting the campaign over the finish line successfully. Arts for a Better Bay Area (ABBA) is proud to have been a supportive member of the campaign from the beginning.
ABBA wants to acknowledge and thank all the individuals and organizations involved with the Proposition from a broad spectrum of the arts and culture community.
Proof we are successful, and better, together!
Here’s to a massive win for the City of San Francisco and the arts and culture community, and to continued collaboration to advocate and mobilize for arts and culture in the Bay Area.
Onward & In Solidarity,
